COPAIBA ESSENTIAL OIL
Copaifera officinalis
Copaifera is a genus of tropical trees in the pea family. The trees are remarkable in that they produce a vast amount of oleoresin. A crude balsam with a high volatile oil component is collected by simply tapping the trees. The oleoresin is fractured to obtain the essential oil. Since the oleoresin is collected from various species, the composition and quality of the resulting essential oil can vary.
Copaiba essential oil has a well-established history for medicinal and industrial purposes. It is added to soaps, perfumes and detergents.
Traditional
The aromatherapy uses are similar to those of the balsam, but the essential oil has a lighter texture and scent. Its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties are effective for the treatment of various skin conditions.
Magical
Copaiba essential oil is a powerful protector that can repel the demons of anxiety and fear. It has traditionally been used in counter-magic rituals
Scent
The lightly balsamic, sweet-peppery scent creates a warm, mildly spicy aroma. It blends well with floral scents such as Cananga, Ylang Ylang, Violet, Jasmine, Helichrysum, Clary Sage, and Vanilla
